Character Information
Name: B'ettehgrennor aka Amelia Rourke
Age: 39 appears around 20
Fandom: Marvel Comics
Job/Title in Fandom: Space Drive Engineer Special Technician
Alignment: Neutral Good
Brief History: Special Technician B'ettehgrennor was raised in the fine tradition of Skrulls everywhere as a patriot. From an early age, when B's skills and abilities in engineering became apparent, he was trained in using them for his people as a space ship special technician, first in the development of engines for long distance travel and then in their maintenance on such voyages.

When the invasion of Earth was planned, B disagreed with the idea, disliking the idea of leaving the homeworld, and of getting involved with any other race, really. B wanted to just stay home, but having no rank or power, B kept his opinions to himself. He was drafted to work on one of the largest ships in the fleet heading to Earth, and nervously went along, working hard and trying not to think about what was coming.

When the ship arrived with the others, while other agents sought to fight, he monitored Earth frequencies and peered at his engines. Despite himself, he slowly grew fascinated with Earth culture, thinking them a great people. When conflict heated up, he was drafted to fight, and in his first major fight, having replaced a female human engineer who was killed to try to fool the enemy, he was hit by a random crossing of magic and Skrull energy. He lost consciousness, and during his time unconscious, was found by humans and thought to be just another victim of the Skrull attacks. Amnesiac, and temporarily locked into human form, she woke in a hospital, confused, thinking she was a human, and unsure what would happen next.

Personality: B was a engineer and not interested in the war or any kind of battle. He was a patriotic Skrull, but in no way was he race proud. He is more interested in inventing and working on engineering projects than in fighting. B loves machines, and loves working with them, especially when there is something new to be learned.

The new, human-feeling and amnesiac B feels free of burdens and convictions, but happy to be an engineer, and happy to work on things. She is full of life and bouncy, and almost everything is new to her. Even as she remembers some things about Earth, her memories are based off of B's viewings of Earth television and internet for the last six months. There are holes in her knowledge, and in her behaviors, but most attribute this to her amnesia, as her skills remain untainted, and she is very loyal to Earth, wanting a chance to analyze this new Skrull technology!

Doctor Rourke was one of the scientists assigned to analyze Skrull technology, and see if she could make heads or tails of their transmissions and scripts. She has some basic familiarity, but feels blocks around many concepts.

B likes people, even though she likes machines more. She looks up and sees superhumans sometimes, and thinks they are pretty awesome, but feels she could never be like that. She's too timid and too much a engineer and inside person at heart.

When her powers of flight, strength, and toughness manifest, it will be a wonder for her, and she will be timid at first. Having powers, and the responsibility that goes with them will make her bouncy, and yet, at heart, she will still be an engineer. She might save a few lives, but she wont quit her day job, so to speak.

When and if she discovers who she really was, she will freak out, and I am unsure at this point how she will react...

Appearance: As a Skrull: medium height, sort of hunchbacked, dull green scaly skin. As a human: Short, blonde, curvaceous, with very light skin, very pale blonde hair, and an intent gaze. She usually is dressed in normal clothes with her lab coat over the top of it.

List of Abilities/Powers: If any. Like all Skrulls, B has the ability to shapechange into anything or anyone that she has seen or has seen schematics of. As all new generation Skrulls are able to do, B can do so undetectably by most normal telepathy, mutant abilities, gene scanners, magic, and super science detection. As well, B was given abilities to enable her to be a perfect space engineer.

She is slightly stronger and tougher than normal, able to heal from normal damage quickly, and is immune to all radiation and energy, from heat to fire to nuclear energy, a necessity for someone who might have to enter an active engine to fix it while the ship is in transit. She can also survive in space for short periods of time with no covering, and can fly under her own power.

B is very intuitive about engines and radiation and engineering. Her knowledge of Skrull tech, and of human tech as well is advanced beyond most human engineers and scientists, though some of that is locked away for now in her amnesiac state.

Because of the blasts that hit her simultaneously, both magic and science, her body was locked in as a human's for an unknown amount of time. The enhancements are still there, but until it wears off, she is, for all intents and purposes, down to the genetic level, a human. It will be extremely painful when it wears off...

B was moving slowly, confused by the sudden shift of orders. He was an engineer, dammit! He was not some sort of soldier or infiltrator! He grumbled as he moved down the hall toward where the others would be in battle. He was to use the Skrull weapon, which looked like a simple human rifle, to kill some of the humans before they knew he was there, and he felt a sickness in his stomach at the idea. It was a hard thing to suddenly have to kill. Sure, he'd taken the training, but everyone had to! He'd never thought he'd actually have to do this!

And this body, how was he supposed tpo function looking like this? He glanced in a mirror as he passed it, pausing just around the corner from the battle, which had penetrated to the heart of the compound. The mirror showed a small woman, Earth pale and slug like with it's soft skin and weird plant-like hair sticking out the top, with the human clothing on it. Skrulls did not wear clothing, preferring to create it's illusion with their shape-changing powers. This human body was... definitely ugly and hard to get used to.He steeled himself up, closed his eyes, and then nodded.

He leaped forward, and turned the corner, charging out into the battle, a cry at his lips, and the fear of what was about to happen in his mind as---

---light flickered across her vision, followed by a form that seemed wrong, but then darkness swallowed her again--

--she saw a white room, with a smiling face that felt and looked alien, and she screamed, and there were more of them there, running around, shouting questions, as a machine wailed--

--confusion and nightmares, of falling with nothing to hold on to, nothing to feel in control about--

--and then--

She woke, the beep of the machines around her startling her, as did the restraints in her arms. She was in a bed, in... in a hospital? Where was she? Was what going on? She shrieked, and someone glanced in the door, and ran. A moment later, a doctor and a nurse entered. The doctor moved to her side as the nurse moved to take her vitals. "Miss Rourke, can you understand me?"

Was that her name? It must be. Oh God... "I-- I don't-- yes, I can hear and understand you. Where am I?" No need to tell them she didn't know her own name until they told her, right? Shit! Rourke... Rourke, it sounded familiar, like a dream, barely remembered. Amelia Rourke was a scientist? Right? Felt familiar, sounded familiar... if only she could remember! She snapped herself back to try to listen to the doctor as she realized he was talking.

"--and you've been unconscious for over a week. We've been holding you with the others who were hurt in the battle, and since you had a head wound, we wanted to make sure you woke in an environment where we could help you right away, if there were problems. But so far, you seem to be recovering well. We'll want to do more tests, but if you feel okay, we can release you soon."

Soon? No! What-- She frantically thought, then sagged. "I don't remember--"

"What do you mean?"

She groaned, in frustration and in shame. "I can't remember anything from before now, except a vague recall of my name." The doctor and nurse exchanged glances, then nodded. "This does happen sometimes, in head wound cases. But with that... are you willing to stay here for awhile, to let us do more tests?"

"Yes, please. I want to know... who I am, what I did... I-- I'm afraid."

The nurse took her hand, patting it. "It's okay. We'll work with you, and in time, you'll remember what your mind and body are comfortable with. Everything else, you can rebuild in life, okay?"

She drew in a deep breath, then slowly nodded. God, she must sound like a freak, whining like that. She could get through this, right? Right.

"Thank you."

Amelia relaxed, smiling, as she sat at her desk. Three weeks had gone by, and she had remembered basics quickly. She knew all about her life, even if she could not recall anything with a hundred percent feeling. Even her body felt a little alien to her, these days, but she was slowly relearning what she was capable of and liked.

The doctor had said a disassociation sometimes happened, and lasted for some time. She had apparently gone by Amy before this, and now preferred Amelia, which amused some of her coworkers, and her sole friend in the office. She still had a lot of missing pieces of her past and the world, but after a millions tests, including a test to make sure she wasn't a Skrull, she had been released to go to work.

Her boss had been sort of unsure about her coming in, but her breakthrough the first week, deciphering some code to enable the team to turn on some of the alien engineering equipment, had put aside all doubts. She was back, and welcomed with open arms.

She'd gotten a dog, who was loving and bouncy around her, and she had found her small apartment to her liking, even as she recalled little of it.

It felt good to be home.

Notes: The beams she was hit with during the battle were both magic and energy. The convergence of them and her perfectly duplicated human body caused her to for now, lock into human form down to the genetics, and magically sync that way, too. She had to undergo lots of testing by SHIELD and the like, to make sure she wasn't a Skrull, all the way to the day she was released, but she passed them all. Her body was shaken and stirred by the blasts she got hit with, and from mind to genes, she is human now.

She will eventually manifest the enhanced powers first, painfully, and then, eventually, the rest of her natural order will come back, but it will be a slow process, and not something to be glossed over or easily done. Every change, every slow shift will be painful, for her body will be fighting that magic and energy that changed her.
